Welcome to my Web Page! About the Teacher. I am the Basic Skills teacher for grades 2 through 5. My educational philosophy is one that incorporates many modalities into meeting the needs of my students. My instruction addresses learning using visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic activities. Phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, reading strategies, writing,and mathematic concept development and reinforcement are concentration areas for instruction, and each is determined by the needs of my students. Developmental appropriate practices also help guide my educational practice. I am a firm believer that the home-school connection needs to be fostered and encourage parents to reach out with questions or concerns. Forming a strong bond between teacher, student, and parents are instrumental in student success.

Classroom News Basic Skills is a supplemental service provided in small group and individually, as needed. Mathematics and language arts are the subjects of concentration for this program. This support service may be addressed in the general education classroom or within a basic skills classroom. Supplemental
materials are also provided to assist and reinforce learning. |
